Israeli Soldier Wanted for War Crimes Present in Dubai: Hind Rajab Foundation Files ICC Complaint27/11/2024
Rotterdam, 27 November 2024 – The Hind Rajab Foundation, in partnership with the March 30 Movement, has filed a formal complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli soldier Liam Shkedi. The complaint alleges Shkedi’s involvement in war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and crimes of aggression, calling for his immediate arrest and prosecution. Grave Violations in Palestine
The complaint documents Shkedi’s direct involvement in the destruction of a civilian home in Ni'lin, Ramallah, on 23 March 2023. It also implicates him in a massacre in Gaza’s Al-Bureij camp, where indiscriminate attacks on densely populated residential areas led to devastating civilian casualties. These actions are part of a broader pattern of systematic violations of international law. Linked to Broader ICC Warrants The Hind Rajab Foundation highlights that the ICC has already issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for crimes committed during Israel's military operations in Gaza. The Foundation asserts that Shkedi’s actions align with these broader systematic policies targeting the Palestinian population and should be addressed with the same urgency. Call for UAE Action The Hind Rajab Foundation has confirmed that Shkedi is currently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Foundation has formally requested the Emirati authorities to arrest him under their obligations to international law and facilitate his transfer to the ICC for prosecution. Compelling Evidence Submitted The Foundation has provided video and photographic evidence, including material sourced from Shkedi’s social media accounts, to substantiate the allegations. This evidence includes his participation in unlawful attacks on civilian infrastructure in both Gaza and the West Bank. The Hind Rajab Foundation calls on the ICC to expedite its investigation and urges the international community to support efforts to bring perpetrators to justice. Comments are closed.
