Hind Rajab Foundation Urges Belgium to Deny Accreditation to Moshe Tetro Amid ICC Complaint

The Hind Rajab Foundation, in collaboration with the March 30 Movement, has taken a firm stance against the appointment of Colonel Moshe Tetro as Israel’s military attaché to Belgium. Citing his direct involvement in war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide during his tenure as the head of the Coordination and Liaison Administration for the Gaza Strip (CLA), the foundation is calling on the Belgian government to deny his accreditation. The Hind Rajab Foundation has also filed a detailed complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC), demanding immediate action against Tetro.

Starvation as a Weapon of War
Under Tetro’s leadership as head of the Coordination and Liaison Administration for the Gaza Strip (CLA), policies were enforced to systematically starve Gaza’s population. Essential resources such as food, water, and medical supplies were severely restricted, creating a man-made famine that has devastated countless lives. The ICC has previously highlighted the use of starvation as a method of war in its warrants against Israeli officials Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant. Tetro’s actions follow the same pattern of collective punishment, targeting civilians in one of the most vulnerable regions in the world.
Attacks on Hospitals
Tetro’s role in directing attacks on hospitals, including Naser Hospital in Khan Yunis and Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, represents a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. Evidence submitted to the ICC includes records of his direct communication with hospital directors before orchestrating attacks that led to mass casualties. Such actions demonstrate a calculated effort to dismantle Gaza’s already fragile healthcare system, leaving civilians with no access to lifesaving medical care.
A Clear Demand to Belgium: Reject Tetro’s Accreditation
In light of these atrocities, the Hind Rajab Foundation has called on the Belgian government to refuse accreditation to Tetro as a military attaché. In a letter addressed to Belgium’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman Dyab Abou Jahjah underscored Belgium’s moral and legal obligation to reject individuals implicated in grave violations of international law.
“Allowing Moshe Tetro to serve in Belgium would be an endorsement of his crimes,” Abou Jahjah asserted. “Belgium must uphold its commitment to justice and send a clear message that war criminals have no place in our institutions or our society.”
The foundation’s demands to the Belgian government are unequivocal:

1. Refuse Accreditation: Deny Moshe Tetro’s diplomatic credentials and block his official status in Belgium.
2. Take a Stand for Justice: Reaffirm Belgium’s leadership in protecting human rights and pursuing accountability for war crimes.

Accountability Beyond Borders
The complaint to the ICC represents only one aspect of the foundation’s broader strategy. Copies of the complaint have been sent to multiple nations, urging coordinated efforts to prosecute Tetro and ensure he is held accountable for his actions. This coordinated approach reflects the foundation’s determination to end impunity for those who have committed unspeakable crimes against humanity.

“Tetro’s policies of starvation and attacks on hospitals are not isolated incidents—they are part of a larger strategy of dehumanization and destruction targeting the Palestinian people,” Abou Jahjah stated. “We will not rest until justice is served, and we call on all nations to join us in this fight.”
Belgium, as a signatory to the Geneva Conventions and a champion of the rule of law, has a unique opportunity to set a precedent by refusing Tetro’s credentials. The world is watching, and the decisions made today will shape the global response to impunity for war crimes.
